I Knew
I knew from the beginning,
that you were just a flirt.
I fell in love with you anyways,
knowing I'd only be hurt.
I tried to tie you down,
and make you love just one.
but how can I do something,
no one else has ever done.
I know you'll never love me,
and I am trying not to cry.
For I must find the strength,
to kiss your touch good bye.
When you ask for me again,
you'll find I won't be there.
I want a love to call my own,
not one I have to share.
I'll hide behind my broken heart,
with a smile upon my face.
Although you'll think I never cared,
no one else will ever take your place.
